China's capital city is Beijing, formerly known as Peking. With one half of the city still having traditional hutong districts and the other half having been updated and altered to suit the times, Beijing blends modern and traditional architectural styles.More over one-fifth of Double First-Class Construction universities are public universities in Beijing, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, many of which are ranked among the best in the world and Asia-Pacific.
