The best way to reach Phobjikha Valley is by hiring a private car or taxi with a local driver. The journey from Thimphu takes 5-6 hours, while the shorter drive from Punakha takes 3-4 hours. The ideal time to visit is November to February to spot migratory black-necked cranes.
