Himachal Pradesh, often referred to as the Snow-laden Mountain Province,is located in the northern region of India. Nestled within the Western Himalayas, it is one of the thirteen mountain states, distinguished by its dramatic topography that includes numerous peaks and extensive river systems. As the northernmost state in India, Himachal Pradesh shares its borders with the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to the north, while to the west it borders Punjab, to the southwest Haryana, to the southeast Uttarakhand, and has a narrow boundary with Uttar Pradesh to the south. Additionally, the state has an international border to the east with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Himachal Pradesh is also known as Dev Bhoomi, which translates to 'Land of Gods,' and Veer Bhoomi, meaning 'Land of the Brave.'National and regional fairs and festivals, including temple fairs, are prevalent in nearly every area. The Kullu Dussehra, Minjar Mela, and Mahashivratri Mandi festival are recognized on a national level. The everyday cuisine of the Himachali people shares similarities with that of the broader northern Indian region, incorporating influences from Punjabi and Tibetan culinary traditions. The staple diet of the local population consists of lentils (Dāl), rice (chāwal or bhāț), vegetables (sabzī), and chapati (wheat flatbread). In Himachal Pradesh, non-vegetarian dishes are more commonly accepted compared to other parts of India, largely due to the limited availability of fresh vegetables in the state's mountainous terrain.  

Udaipur  is a city in the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan, about 415 km (258 mi) south of the state capital Jaipur. It serves as the administrative headquarters of Udaipur district. It is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. It was founded in 1559 by Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajputs,when he shifted his capital from the city of Chittorgarh to Udaipur after Chittorgarh was besieged by Akbar. It remained as the capital city till 1818 when Mewar became a British princely state, and thereafter the Mewar province became a part of Rajasthan when India gained independence in 1947.It is also known as the City of Lakes, as it is surrounded by five major artificial lakes.The city is located in the southernmost part of Rajasthan, near the Gujarat border. To its west is the Aravali Range, which separates it from the Thar Desert.  Udaipur has a rich cultural heritage from the past e.g. lakes, temples, huge forts, and palaces.Gangaur is a Hindu festival celebrated in the Indian states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Fazilka District of Punjab, the regions of Malwa, Nimar regions (Manawar, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa) of Madhya Pradesh and the Braj and Bundelkhand regions of Uttar Pradesh. Gangaur is a colourful festival which is one of the most important celebrations of the people of Rajasthan and the Fazilka district of Punjab. It is observed throughout the state with great fervor and devotion by womenfolk who worship the goddess Gauri (Parvati), the consort of Shiva during the Hindu month of Chaitra (March–April)  

In the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India, Khajjiar is a hill station close to the town of Chamba. It is situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges in the Western Himalayas, on a small plateau about 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) above sea level, roughly 24 kilometers (15 miles) from Dalhousie. The Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary includes it as well.The closest large town is Dalhousie, from which Khajjiar is accessible. Three ecosystems coexist in the area: forest, pasture, and lake.Hiking through the pine forests and strolling around the lake are two of Khajjiar's main attractions. Snow accumulation during the winter months might be as high as 910 mm (3 feet). There is a park, a huge statue of Hanuman, and other activities like paragliding and horseback riding.Khajjiar is home to verdant meadows, pines, and dense deodars. It has sweeping views of the peaks and is located at the foot of the Dhauladhar mountains. It is comparable to Switzerland as well. Another moniker for it is ""mini Switzerland.        

Northern India contains the state of Rajasthan. Its overall size is 342,239 square kilometers (132,139 square miles), or 10.4% of India's total land area. In terms of area, it is the biggest Indian state, and in terms of population, it ranks eighth. Along the Sutlej-Indus River valley, it borders the Pakistani provinces of Sindh to the west and Punjab to the northwest. It is located on the northwest side of India, where it includes the majority of the vast and hostile Thar Desert, also referred to as the Great Indian Desert. The Dilwara Temples, a Jain pilgrimage site at Rajasthan's only hill station, Mount Abu, in the ancient Aravalli mountain range and eastern Rajasthan, the ruins of the Indus Valley civilization at Kalibangan and Balathal, and the Keoladeo National Park of Bharatpur, a World Heritage Site renowned for its bird life, are some of its main features. Three national tiger reserves—the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota, the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar, and the Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur—are also located in Rajasthan.Dal-baati-churma is very popular in Rajasthan.
