Khajjiar, India

In the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India, Khajjiar is a hill station close to the town of Chamba. It is situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges in the Western Himalayas, on a small plateau about 2,000 meters (6,500 feet) above sea level, roughly 24 kilometers (15 miles) from Dalhousie. The Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary includes it as well.The closest large town is Dalhousie, from which Khajjiar is accessible. Three ecosystems coexist in the area: forest, pasture, and lake.Hiking through the pine forests and strolling around the lake are two of Khajjiar's main attractions. Snow accumulation during the winter months might be as high as 910 mm (3 feet). There is a park, a huge statue of Hanuman, and other activities like paragliding and horseback riding.Khajjiar is home to verdant meadows, pines, and dense deodars.
