Opened in 1996 to celebrate the 660th anniversary of his birth, the museum highlights the golden age of the Timurid Empire.
 

The Amir Timur Museum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is a monumental tribute to the 14th-century Turko-Mongol conqueror and founder of the Timurid Empire. Opened in 1996, it celebrates the golden age of Central Asian history, art, and science through over 5,000 artifacts, grand architecture, and interactive exhibits. Features elaborate marble, gold leaf, and intricate frescoes on the walls depicting scenes from Timur’s life. The ceilings are adorned with traditional oriental patterns and designs.  Hanging from the ceiling is an awe-inspiring 8.5-meter (28-foot) tall crystal chandelier made of over 106,000 pendants.
